Some time ago, while looking for an image on a royalty and copyright free source for a silhouette type, black and grey project that I was working on, this simple, colour portrait of a young red-haired woman stood out and I set it aside for future use. A few months later, I returned to the image and set to work, adding and adjusting various filters and layers, working towards a bold brush, oil paint effect that I thought this project warranted. 

After many hours of layering and enhancing certain aspects, I finally set upon the artwork that you see above. Often, it is very difficult with any art to know when to stop, as it is easy to go back and add or tweak something to try and improve the finished work, but this piece just works so well. And if you scroll down this page, you can download this artwork for free in a high resolution format that you can print yourself.

This free wall art is similar to a standard A5 size (210 x 148mm or 8.3 x 5.8in approx.) and is high resolution 300dpi (high print quality). For example, the JPEG is 2480 x 1756 pixels, and if altered to 150dpi (medium print quality) would actually give an image size of 420 x 297mm.  I am working to provide even larger sized high resolution downloads for this artwork.
